We had such a large interest, we hosted another Spiced Blueberry Jam canning class led by Kirsten Spears of Fox Trail Farm!! We had several youth join in to learn the process of doing jam. It was a great time had by all!

These Grow, Cook, Serve classes are made possible through funding from United Way of Mid Rural New York, Inc., and they wouldn't be possible without the support and participation of this amazing community.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special thank you to Kirsten for sharing her expertise and passion. We look forward to seeing what we'll learn and create together next!

Despite the less-than-ideal weather, Monday night's canning class was a great success!

Participants learned the process of safely pressure canning vegetables, including the importance of following proper food preservation guidelines to ensure safe, high-quality results. Everyone had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build confidence in preserving their harvests at home.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a fun and educational evening. We look forward to seeing you at future Grow, Cook, Serve classes!

On Monday evening, we hosted a Spiced Blueberry Jam canning class led by Kirsten Spears of Fox Trail Farm. As we prepared this simple and delicious recipe, the kitchen filled with the wonderful aroma of blueberries and warm spices!

One of the best parts of the evening was hearing several participants share that the recipe was so easy to follow that they feel confident making it at home. Helping community members build skills and confidence in the kitchen is exactly what these classes are all about.

It’s finally here! Today is Chenango Open Farm Day, so come out and Explore the Acres with us from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM for a day of discovery and family adventure.

Want to start the adventure a little early with the sweetest breakfast in the area? Cooks Maple Products is hosting a pancake breakfast from 7am to 1pm. The cost for adults is $10 for pancakes, sausage, and a drink or coffee, $5 for twelve and under, and free for ages under three.

Check out the event at details at: Chenango County Open Farm Day

The Open Farm Day Passport is your passport to adventure! Grab one at any participating farm stop—it’s your ultimate guide for the day, packed with a full event map to plan your route, stop-by-stop details highlighting unique interactions (from meeting yaks to picking fresh blueberries to cheese-making demonstrations and fresh produce tastings), kids' activity sheets, and space to collect special sticker stamps at every farm you visit.

Make your day even more rewarding:

Enter the Raffle: Visit at least 3 stops, including the Dairy Day celebration at the Chenango County Fairgrounds (Case Building). Bring your stamped Passport to the CCE Chenango booth at the Fairgrounds to be entered for a chance to win one of three massive baskets highlighting products from our participants and TSC partners. You do not have to be present at the drawing to win, so you can keep exploring after.

Kids' Bicycle Giveaway: Kids who complete the coloring contest will be entered into a random drawing to win a brand new bicycle, selected based on their age and height.

Please help us share the word and make this event a demonstration of how much we support our local agricultural community!

We can't wait to see you there!
