The outside of the library is coming alive!

Our front lawn has been reseeded, the fountain is now flowing in the back garden, the little fences have been put up to protect our plants and flowers, and a new garden bed is being put together for some veggies and herbs.

Join us tonight on Thursday, April 23 from 5:30-7pm for the last of NPL's programming around the 2025 VT Reads book "The Light Pirate" by Lily Brooks-Dalton. Shawna Trader of Barre Up! will present "Facing a Flooded World: Why Relationship is the Sweetest Way" about community building projects after natural disasters and how they provide pathways to resilience.

"Central Vermont endured catastrophic flooding in 2023 and 2024. Now, the horizon looks different. An America with less disaster response support seems likely, while the planet continues to warm and the rain falls hard and fast.

We are not doomed to endure passively the rising water and the changeful times. Community care is possible and necessary. We’ll explore "The Light Pirate" by Lily Brooks-Dalton and how this prescient story points to the power of relationship as we look to the future."

It's spring! And that means gardening and planting!

Thanks to The Home Depot - West Lebanon for donating all of the flowers and planting materials for our celebration of National Gardening Day on Monday, 4/13!

And we also received our seeds from Slow Food USA, which will be going in our Library garden this season.

And and the trees from Neighborhood Forest have arrived! If you signed up for one, stop by the circulation desk to pick it up.
