Three projects begin today in Carver County, including Highway 10 resurfacing, traffic signal and accessibility improvements, and Public Works parking lot resurfacing. Highway 10 Resurfacing Detours Begin Aug. 17
Work on the Highway 10 Resurfacing Project in Waconia begins Monday, Aug. 17. Business and local access will remain open, but drivers should follow posted detours and allow extra travel time.
Highway 5 to Highway 284 closes Aug. 17 and is expected to reopen by Sept. 1, weather permitting.
Highway 59 to Highway 11 also closes Aug. 17. An estimated reopening date will be shared when available.
Work on the segment between Highway 284 and Highway 59 will occur later in the project.
The project includes resurfacing Highway 10, upgrading pedestrian facilities, constructing new trail and sidewalk connections, and installing raised medians.

Traffic Signal and Accessibility Work Begins Aug. 17
Traffic signal and accessibility improvements begin Aug. 17 at intersections across the county. Work is expected to continue through the fall.
The project will modernize traffic signal technology, improve pedestrian accessibility, and upgrade communications equipment to enhance traffic operations and safety.
Traffic impacts are expected to be minimal, with short-term lane closures or lane shifts occurring primarily during off-peak hours while crews complete improvements. Emergency services, schools, businesses, and residents will continue to have access throughout construction.

Public Works Parking Lot Resurfacing Begins Aug. 17
Reconstruction and resurfacing of the parking lot at the Carver County Public Works facility in Cologne begins Aug. 17 and is expected to continue through mid-October.
The facility will remain accessible during construction. Staff and visitors should follow posted signs and temporary traffic controls when entering, exiting, and moving through the parking area.

Highway 212 Expansion Project Advances in Benton Township
Work continues on the Highway 212 expansion project in Benton Township, where crews are expanding the highway from two lanes to four lanes and upgrading intersections.
Paving is underway near the Tacoma Avenue intersection, while crews are also installing drainage pipes in the westbound section of Highway 212.
