The Novato Police Officers Association is proud to endorse Dan Christian for Novato City Council, District 4.

Novato is entering a new chapter. The challenges facing our community today are not the same challenges we faced decades ago, and we believe our leadership must be willing to evolve with them.

Dan has made public safety a clear priority, including maintaining a fully staffed police department, supporting City employees, and strengthening collaboration between public safety, City leadership, and our community.

District 4 has an important choice this November. We believe Dan brings the new energy, fresh perspective, and active leadership Novato needs moving forward.

Final update provided by Novato Police Department regarding the incident earlier today

🚨Shooting Investigation Update:

This morning (8/4), around 10:10AM, Novato Police Dispatch received several 9-1-1 calls regarding a possible shooting in the 400 block of Alameda del Prado. Callers reported hearing multiple shots fired, and the suspect ran from the area on foot. As officers arrived, they received information that the suspect was seen fleeing toward Calle Arboleda. Officers located the victim nearby, who had suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital by medics. This incident involves people known to each other and is believed to be a targeted incident. The suspect information received:

📢Suspect Description: Hispanic adult male, 5'6", dark pants, grey hooded sweatshirt, wearing a black mask.

The Marin County Sheriff's Office and California Highway Patrol assisted our officers in searching the nearby neighborhoods. Community members are asked to shelter in place until further notice. To ensure public safety, Drone teams, CHP aircraft, and a Police Canine team from Vallejo Police Department will search the area for several hours.

We thank the community for your patience while officers investigated the incident. We appreciate the assistance from our partners at Marin County Sheriff's Office, CHP - Marin, and CHP - Golden Gate Division Air Operations.

Happy 236th birthday U.S. Coast Guard

The Novato Police Officers Association is heartbroken to hear of the passing of former Novato Police Officer Nick Conrad.

Nick proudly served the Novato community for nine years and was a valued member of our Association. He spent many of those years as a detective and was someone who truly cared about the people he served and the officers he worked alongside.

Our thoughts are with Nick’s family, friends, and his colleagues at the Napa County District Attorney’s Office during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you for your service, Nick. Rest easy. You will be missed.

We are grateful to partner with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) in honoring 3 of our Patrol team members for their lifesaving work keeping Novato safe!

🌟 Corporal Rehberg – 25 DUI arrests
🌟Officer Vasquez – 25 DUI arrests

That’s 85 times these officers stepped in to help prevent a tragedy. But true community safety is a team effort that starts long before our officers turn on their lights.

If you plan on drinking, plan ahead, designate a sober driver, use a rideshare, or call a cab. If you suspect an impaired driver on the road, call 9-1-1.
