A message from one of our co-founders:

"Today, Independence Day, I am thinking about 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵/𝗮𝗻𝗱. It's sort of my guiding principle in life.

Today, I am 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 devastated at the ongoing assault on freedom 𝗮𝗻𝗱 determined to fight for those freedoms. I am 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 disgusted by politicians who lack the bravery to stand up for what is right 𝗮𝗻𝗱 inspired by the bravery of everyday Americans. I am 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 exhausted of what seems like an endless losing battle 𝗮𝗻𝗱 I see so clearly where we can win.

For me, that means helping good, authentic, values-driven people who are brave enough to step up and run for local office right now. I might not be able to make a difference (although I sure as hell will try!) in who leads our country, but I can get to know people right here in Michigan who are ready to fight for Black, brown, LGBTQ+, and immigrant kids in their schools. People who will work to make our communities more accessible and sustainable, not just more profitable. People who will bring true representation to leadership.

If you're feeling jaded today, look for the both/and. You can be 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 jaded 𝗮𝗻𝗱 undefeated. What do you have? What do you care about? Use what you have to work for what you care about.

When Betsy Beaudoin decided to run for Novi Community School District's Board of Education trustee, she knew what she wanted for students and teachers: a culture of belonging, strong mental health support, collaboration, and student voice. What she needed was guidance to share her platform and win votes. With Sharon and Sujata's help, Betsy was the top vote getter in a field of four! She's proven to be a true advocate for public education who works to make Novi schools a great place for each child, each day.
