Another busy day for the City of Novice VFD. The WALKING Fire off of CR 468. Units from Coleman Fire Department, Lake Coleman VFD, Glen Cove VFD, Burkett VFD and Santa Anna VFD along with The Texas A&M Forest Service were working to contain this fire which was started by lightning. Approximately 100 acres burned in heavy brush and prickly pear. One helicopter and 4 Fire boss planes were able to use Lake Coleman to fill and made quick work slowing the spread of the fire. Huge thanks to everyone who assisted in this operation.
