Hi everyone 👋
I should probably post more because the behind-the-scenes farm chaos is entertaining all by itself. Between the trails, the horses, and everything constantly going sideways around here, there’s never a dull moment. I think people would probably enjoy seeing more of the real day-to-day horse farm life, so I’m going to try to work on that more. In the meantime I have this pretty cool horse for sale, I figured I might as well actually use the trail riding page to market him.
this is Ace.
Ace came here from auction about three years ago and was sold to us as a “trail kid horse.” What showed up was basically a giant toddler with anger issues. He didn’t want to be caught, touched, tied, saddled… honestly everything was a fight. I loathed him.
So we turned him out, let him decompress, let him be a horse, and over time he slowly started changing.
Now? He’s honestly one of the coolest horses I’ve ridden.
He is a freight train on the trail. Been to the ice cream shop, NYS greenway. Rides alone, with others, front, middle,or back. Rides down the road.
Yesterday our trails were basically rivers from all the rain and this horse just powered through everything without hesitating once. He hadn’t been ridden in probably over a month and just pulled him yesterday and hopped on.
He still has quirks and anxiety sometimes, but under saddle he is an absolute blast. Forward moving, confident, sturdy, and always feels like he’s got a job to do.
And honestly, that’s exactly why I think he’ll make somebody an incredible personal horse. He’s not mean, he’s not dangerous, he just likes to go and enjoys having a job. I absolutely love riding him, but for our program we need quieter, slower horses that can pack around complete beginners all day long. Ace is more of an “let’s hit the trails and have fun” kind of horse for someone that doesn’t want a 🦥
So he’s for sale.
He’d make a really fun trail horse for a confident kid, tween, or adult that likes a horse with some personality and a horse that likes to MOVE. No buck, no rear under saddle, walk/trot/canter, hasn’t spooked at anything with us. Rode yesterday with 3 dogs bounding in and out, and goats. Also threw my 12 year “casual rider” on him. And he loved him 😅😂.
I’ve ignored messages before because honestly I kind of hoped nobody would buy him because I like him so much. But I need the pasture space and he deserves someone who will really enjoy him and go do things with him. So I’ll put more effort in this time.
