Due to its close proximity to Scott Air Force Base, O’Fallon is home to many veterans, defense contractors, and military retirees. Even as O’Fallon contin

ues to enjoy both business and residential growth, it maintains its small town feel and sense of community. O’Fallon has a rich heritage with deep roots. In 1854, the Ohio and Mississippi Railroad built a depot named O’Fallon Station – in honor of one of St. Louis’ prominent businessmen – in the heart of the present historic district. The railroad has always played an important role in the history of the community. It was during the nineteenth century that German immigrant farmers and businessmen settled the community. Rich coalfields were discovered near O’Fallon in the mid 1800s and it, too, is an important thread in the city’s historic tapestry. O’Fallon is known throughout the region for its excellence in education at all levels. Our students consistently score above average in state testing. There are two public elementary school districts: Central District 104 and District 90. The Central School District, serving 400 students, consists of kindergarten through eighth grade, while District 90 serves more than 3,200 students, also kindergarten through eighth grade. The community has three private schools, seven elementary schools, a new junior high school and O’Fallon Township High School, which is ranked one of the best in the country by the U.S. Shopping, dining and entertainment, both indoor and outdoor, abound in O’Fallon. There are nearly 700 businesses that operate in the city and more open their doors each month. There are currently eight shopping centers in O’Fallon, with more planned for the near future. In addition to national retailers like Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club, O’Fallon is also home to a major crafts and garden center. After eating from your choice of O’Fallon’s many restaurants, offering everything from Japanese to Southern barbeque, you can check out the latest films at the state-of – the-art 15 screen movie theater. For the active personality, check out the St. Clair Bowl, Cats City Bowl, and Centerfield, which features mini golf, batting cages, bumper boats, video arcade, slik trak, kidz kartz, pedal boats, and nas karts. O’Fallon is blessed with great recreational facilities in addition to a superb community park system. In addition to offering youth sports programs available throughout the year- including swimming, soccer, and little league, the Parks and Recreation Department now offers a variety of classes that meet everyone’s interests and needs. Nearby, there are several championship golf courses, beautiful parks, and peaceful bike paths. A YMCA, features an indoor swimming pool and running track, and offers even more family-oriented activities for our residents. There are countless reasons to live in O’Fallon. However, the best reason may be the 30, 000 friendly folks who already call O’Fallon home and are just waiting to call you their new neighbor.

🏗️ Park Place Development
Earlier this week, we met with the Park Place development team. They have completed the engineering work necessary for the relocation of the Ameren power lines and are optimistic that construction could begin this fall.
