From president Linda Edmonds Mitchell

Hello fellow Toastmasters:!
We had another great meeting last night, with 15 attendees, including three guests!
We welcomed Mandy Neely, Jim Skinner, and Xavier DeJesus, a guest of our newest member, Eric Wegner. Eric plunged right into club duties by serving as the Table Topics Master. Each of us tried to build on a chain of events he presented that started out something like “I was crossing a rickety bridge on the Swiss Alps with my friend when I saw below me….” Some of us successfully used “adamant” during our speech as the word of the day.

Congratulations to Xavier for winning the Best Table Topics award. Chris Kirk, who was decked in vacation gear, spoke about his family’s magical trip to Disney World and explained the strap of collectible pins he was wearing. He won the Best Speaker award, beating out Air Force veteran Jim Rubush, who enthralled us with his harrowing tale of refueling a fighter jet during Desert Shield ! Lance Richter won the Best Evaluator award.

Until next week

A big thank you to our president Linda Edmonds Mitchell for sending this info my way.

- Hello fellow Toastmasters. First off, kudos to our guest, Eric Wenger, for receiving the Best Table Topics award; Lance Richter, Best Speaker award; and Linda Mitchell Best Evaluator award.

Thanks to everyone who pitched in to fulfill the duties, especially to Veena Lal who served as an evaluator for the first time and did a great job evaluating Lance's speech. We had a good meeting last night. Some of the highlights were Bryan Vogt reminding us to make it a habit to invite someone to the meeting every week.

Lance gave us a rousing speech to encourage us to be ourselves and be more animated when we give speeches. Louis Smith refreshed our memories on the protocol for the upcoming fall contest for Table Topics and Humorous speech. The contest date is set for September 10, 2015 . -
