All aboard! Trolley tickets go on sale tomorrow!

We hear you, O'Fallon! You're ready to book those Celebration of Lights trolley tickets. Because of the incredible number of inquiries, we've decided to go ahead and open trolley ticket sales beginning Monday, August 31st at 9:00 a.m.

Trolley rides are available every Thursday through Sunday (except December 6) during Celebration of Lights. Each trolley can accommodate up to 30 passengers, making it the perfect way for your group to get out and experience this cherished community tradition.

Join us at the O'Fallon Senior Center on Wednesday, September 16th, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. for our next free Senior Seminar. These sessions are designed to provide unbiased, reliable information that empowers older adults and their support networks to make confident, educated decisions. Pre-registration is encouraged; walk-ins are welcome.

Our September seminar discusses Better Balance. Many people mistakenly believe that declining balance and frequent falls are a normal part of aging, but this is not true. The good news is that with the right exercises, you can improve your balance, reduce the risk of falls, and minimize injuries if a fall does occur. Explore how exercise helps prevent falls, why sideways falls pose the greatest danger, the consequences of being unable to get up after a fall, and the importance of maintaining strong balance reflexes. You will also learn the top six balance exercises you can easily do at home.

City employees were recently made aware of an ongoing scam targeting city permit applicants. Please be aware that the City of O’Fallon will never request permit payments via wire transfer. City permit payments are processed securely through the CitizenServe Online Portal after logging into your account.

To help you identify legitimate communications from the City, we have provided a sample of a fake invoice for reference. If you receive any payment requests that seem suspicious or differ from the standard invoice format, do not respond to or send any funds, and contact our office immediately.

Give them a chance to enjoy a splash in the pool before it closes for the season at O’Fallon’s annual Pool Paws Dog Swim at Alligator's Creek Aquatic Center on Saturday, September 12th, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.! For just $15, a dog and their human can enjoy a fun-filled morning of swimming and socializing, with additional humans welcome for $7 each. All dogs must be accompanied by an adult (18+) and have written proof of rabies vaccination. Want to skip the line? Register in advance for faster entry so you can jump straight into the fun! Best of all, proceeds benefit the Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislation, supporting animal welfare across the state.

Volunteer O'Fallon is proud to host the annual Support Our Troops Supply Drive now through September 11th. Help us show our appreciation for the men and women serving overseas by donating much-needed personal care items, snacks, and other miscellaneous supplies.

Monetary donations are also welcome. A donation of $20 covers the cost of shipping one Priority Mail Flat Rate Box of supplies overseas. Please make checks payable to H.E.R.O.E.S. Care, the nonprofit organization that packages and ships these donations to our deployed troops.

As summer winds down and the new school year approaches, Alligator's Creek Aquatic Center has transitioned to its late-season schedule. The aquatic center is now closed Monday through Friday and open Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Labor Day, hours will be noon to 4 p.m., and September 7th will be the final day of the season. Be sure to soak up the last days of summer before we close for the year!

It's time to clean out those old files! O'Fallon's Environmental Services Division hosts two Shred-It Days each year, offering paper shredding in a secure environment. Our second Shred-It Day will be on Saturday, September 19th, from 8 a.m. until noon at the Environmental Services building located at 1550 Progress West Lane.

This service is free for O'Fallon trash customers for up to five banker-sized boxes. Additional boxes will be accepted for a cost of $5 per box. Residents without trash service and non-residents may also drop off paper for shredding for $5 per box.
