Big progress is happening at Scarlet Oak! The new wing now has power, air conditioning, painted walls, and flooring being installed. We also completed a brand-new water and sewer connection to the city, which will help eliminate the sewer backup and odor issues the building has experienced for years. Mother Nature has tested us with a few severe storms but we kept going!

Outside, the playground is installed, concrete work is coming soon, roof work continues, and new building facades are giving Scarlet Oak a fresh new look. And don't worry about the dirt piles... new parking lots, sidewalks, stairs, and landscaping are still on the way!

August will be a busy month with furniture deliveries, moving classroom items, unloading PODs, and completing renovations in the existing wing for our 1st and 2nd grade classrooms. The schedule is tight!

We're transforming a beloved 62-year-old building, and while there will be a few touch-ups along the way, we can't wait to welcome students and staff back to the new Scarlet Oak! ❤️🖤

We are proud to announce that Arbor Park School District 145 has been selected as a 2026 Future-Ready Facilities Grant recipient — one of just 14 school districts chosen from a competitive national applicant pool.

Through this grant, we will be implementing Attune - formerly Senseware's monitoring technology across select buildings to track energy use (water and electricity) — helping us make smarter, data-driven decisions to improve the health and safety of our schools.

And just like that… Arbor Elementary is spreading its wings and heading to a new home!🦉This fall, Arbor Elementary and Scarlet Oak will combine to become one unified 1st through 4th grade school. For the past six years, Arbor Elementary has been grateful guests of the Panthers at Arbor Park Middle School. We are incredibly thankful for their kindness, generosity, and hospitality, and we're all looking forward to an exciting new chapter! ✨
