What an incredible start to Summer Academy across the Oak Grove R-VI School District!

Students spent the first week learning, exploring, and creating new experiences at every level. From learning how to count to 20 at Oak Grove R-VI Primary School, to canoeing adventures at Oak Grove R-VI Elementary, learning proper weightlifting techniques at Oak Grove R-VI Middle School, and even practicing what not to do during a speech at Oak Grove R-VI High School, our students stayed engaged, challenged, and excited to learn.

We are proud of the enthusiasm, curiosity, and growth already taking place this summer and can’t wait to see what the coming weeks bring. Great job, Panthers!

Today, the Oak Grove R-VI School District pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to protecting our freedoms and liberties will never be forgotten.

Because of their sacrifice, we are able to live, learn, gather, and pursue opportunities each and every day. Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it is a time to reflect on the true cost of freedom and to honor the heroes who gave everything for something greater than themselves.

As families across our community spend time together today, we encourage everyone to take a moment to remember those who never made it home and the loved ones who continue to carry their legacy forward.

We also want to recognize and thank the graduates of the Oak Grove R-VI High School Class of 2026 who have answered the call to serve our country by joining the United States Armed Forces. Your willingness to step forward and serve something greater than yourself is honorable and deeply appreciated. May you be protected everywhere you go, and may you always carry the pride and support of Panther Nation with you. 🇺🇸

Congratulations to Oak Grove R-VI Middle School counselor Kaley Barnes on being elected to the Missouri School Counselor Association Board of Directors. Kaley will officially begin a three-year term on October 1, 2026.

In this new leadership role, Kaley will advocate for and support school counselors and comprehensive school counseling programs across Missouri. Kaley will continue working with statewide partners and committees focused on legislative advocacy, su***de prevention, school-based mental health, trauma-informed schools, and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to strengthen and improve counseling programs for students statewide.

This achievement reflects Kaley's dedication to supporting students, building strong school communities, and advancing the school counseling profession both locally and across Missouri.

Congratulations, Kaley, on this outstanding accomplishment and continued leadership in education.

Attendance matters — and Panther Nation showed up this year.

From August 2025 to May 2026, our students demonstrated a strong commitment to learning and being present in the classroom each day. Consistent attendance plays a major role in student success, school culture, and the development of strong habits for the future.

Building Attendance Averages:
1️⃣ Oak Grove R-VI Primary School – 93.20%
2️⃣ Oak Grove R-VI High School – 92.60%
3️⃣ Oak Grove R-VI Elementary– 92.02%
4️⃣ Oak Grove R-VI Middle School – 90.53%

District-wide, April recorded our highest-attendance month of the school year, with an impressive average attendance rate of 94.46%.

Thank you to our students, families, teachers, and staff for making attendance a priority throughout the 2025–2026 school year. Every day matters, and your commitment continues to make a difference across Panther Nation.

2026 OGHS All-Class Reunion

Calling all OGHS alumni! Join us for the Annual OGHS All-Class Reunion on June 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Middle School.

All former graduates (including class of 2026) and current staff members are welcome to attend.

There is no entry fee. The reunion will include a potluck dinner, with tea, coffee, and water provided. A hat will be passed to help cover expenses and support a possible scholarship.

The Oak Grove Historical Society will have photos and posters available to view, and a photo booth will also be available. Contributions are accepted.

The Oak Grove School District Foundation continues to make a lasting impact in Panther Nation by supporting innovative learning opportunities for students and staff across the district.

This year, the Oak Grove School District Education Foundation (OGSDEF) proudly awarded $7,722.88 in Teacher Grants to educators throughout the district. In an incredible show of support for our schools, the OGSDEF Advisory Board chose to fund every grant request submitted.

These grants will help provide enhanced classroom experiences, instructional resources, hands-on learning opportunities, and additional support programs that directly benefit Oak Grove students from early childhood through high school.
