The West Carroll Sanitary Landfill will be closed Friday July 3rd and Saturday July 4th. If your normal pick-up day is Friday July 3rd your garbage will be picked up on Monday July 6th.

ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LA DOTD) advises motorists that, beginning June 23, 2026, the LA Highway 2 Bridge over Little Colewa Bayou will be closed to through traffic.

The closure is necessary to allow for routine bridge maintenance. The project is expected to take approximately two weeks, with the bridge anticipated to reopen on July 2, 2026, weather permitting.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and utilize alternate routes during the closure.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation while these improvements are being completed.

The West Carroll Parish Police Jury will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday May 25, garbage collection will be picked up Tuesday, May 26.

The West Carroll Police Jury has lifted the Burn Ban.
Please continue to use caution when burning.

The West Carroll Parish Police Jury has issued a burn ban effective immediately for all of West Carroll Parish. This ban prohibits all outdoor burning until further notice.

The decision comes as a result of dry conditions and lack of adequate rainfall, which have led to an increased fire danger and numerous reports of grass fires in the parish.

The West Carroll Parish Police Jury will be closed on Good Friday, April 3. Friday garbage collection will be picked up Monday, April 6.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced the start of an emergency tree debris removal project in West Carroll Parish on State Highways as needed.

Work on the project is scheduled to begin immediately.

Residents who live along state highways are asked to please move all storm debris to the back side of the ditch as soon as possible. Crews will be coming through to collect debris, and materials must be properly placed in order to be picked up.

Please keep all debris out of the ditch to allow for proper drainage and collection.

NOTE: This is for storm debris only.

Debris pickup for parish roads is currently in the works. We will provide an update as soon as scheduling details are finalized.
