Know Before You Ride:
New Washington e-bike laws with Detective Rafferty from Oak Harbor PD
The new law keeps the three classes of e-bikes, but makes a clear distinction between e-bikes and the higher-powered electric motorcycles.
Parents, please have conversations with your kids about the new law. Our police officers will make stops and educate young riders for a period of time before issuing infractions.

Day 1 of Camp Windjammer: SMILES ALL
AROUND!

If the size of these smiles is any indication, we’d say the first day of camp was a huge hit!

Campers jumped right in and made the most of their first day and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store.

Heads up! Our Parks Supervisor put up signs around the lagoon to let everyone know there are sand wasps in the area.
No need to panic, the wasps aren't dangerous as long as they aren't provoked. Just give them their space, and we can all enjoy a safe day at the park!

“I’m proud of the teamwork happening behind the scenes to make the Chamber’s Independence Day festivities safe and enjoyable for everyone” -Mayor Wright.

Mayor Wright is correct, there is a lot of behind the scenes planning because community events don’t happen by accident, they happen when people come together and have a conversation.

Today, representatives from all City departments, first responders, and the Chamber of Commerce met to review the event permit.
