Today we celebrate an incredible milestone and honor an extraordinary public servant.

After 48 years of dedicated service to the Village of Oak Hill, Catherine D. “Cathie” McFann is retiring. Beginning her career in July 1978 and serving faithfully through July 2026, Cathie has been a constant presence and an invaluable part of our Village family.

For nearly five decades, her dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving the citizens of Oak Hill have made a lasting impact on our community. Through many changes over the years, Cathie has always been someone the Village could count on, and her years of service are a testament to her loyalty and hard work.

On behalf of the Village of Oak Hill, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your 48 years of service. Your contributions will not be forgotten, and your legacy will continue to be felt for years to come.

The Village of Oak Hill Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police Officer.
Serving approximately 1,700 residents within just over one square mile, the Oak Hill Police Department is committed to professional law enforcement, community engagement, and public service.
Minimum Requirements:
✔ OPOTA Certified
✔ Valid, unrestricted Ohio Driver’s License with no major citations
✔ Ability to maintain OPOTA certification
✔ Successful completion of a criminal background investigation and drug screening
Position Responsibilities:
Police Officers are responsible for protecting life and property, enforcing laws, preventing and investigating crime, responding to calls for service, and building positive relationships within our community through community-oriented policing.
Compensation & Benefits:
💲 Starting Pay: $19.00 per hour

Reminder of Ordinance 2025-09 passed in the fall of 2025 prohibiting the deposit of grass and other yard waste onto public streets and roadways in the Village.

No person shall intentionally or negligently cause or permit grass clippings or other yard waste to be deposited, discharged, swept or blown onto any public roadway within the Village of Oak Hill.

Grass clippings means any cut or mowed grass, leaves or other vegetative debris resulting from lawn maintenance or landscaping activities.

Public roadway means any street, alley, sidewalk or rother right of way maintained by the Village of Oak Hill for public use.

Any person who causes or permits grass clippings or yard waste to be deposited on public roadway shall immediately remove such material. Grass clippings and other yard waste on public streets and roadways creates hazardous conditions for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians, particularly when wet. Also such materials can obstruct stormwater drainage systems, contributing to localized flooding and increased maintenance costs.
