Oak Park Economic Development Corporation OPEDC acts as a catalyst between developers, business owners, and the Village to spur and support new and existing businesses in Oak Park. Oak Park Economic Development Corporation (OPEDC) is a small, not-for-profit, economic redevelopment organization established by local businesses and banks in 1974.

OPEDC assists businesses, property owners, and developers seeking sites, financing, or other assistance in the development, sale, purchase, lease, or rehab of commercial property.

Farmer's market tomorrow!

Curb-to-curb transportation to and from the Oak Park Farmers’ Market is available every Saturday. Look for the Oak Park Township bus at the Market entrance during Market hours. The wheelchair-accessible bus will transport shoppers to locations within Oak Park and River Forest. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling 708.383.4806 between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A $1 donation is suggested. The countdown is on for opening day of the Oak Park Farmers' Market on Saturday, May 22! This year the Market will return to its regular location in the Pilgrim Church parking lot at 460 Lake Street. Patrons will be required to enter on foot through a designated entrance on Lake Street and mandatory COVID-19 safety measures will be in place, including face coverings and proper social distancing. The Market is held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through October. More info about how the Market will work this year is at www.oak-park.us/market2021.

Good news in the Southtown Business District as Oak Park Avenue between Harrison and Van Buren streets is scheduled to open to all traffic by end of day this Friday. Visit the project’s dedicated website at www.OPAveAnew.com for construction details and schedules. The website also offers an option to sign up for email updates about the construction project, which in addition to ongoing underground water and sewer work includes resurfacing the vital north/south roadway later this year from North Avenue to Roosevelt Road.

Calling ALL restaurants - The American Rescue Plan Act has established the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) to provide funding to help restaurants and other eligible businesses keep their doors open. This program will provide restaurants with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location. Recipients are not required to repay the funding as long as funds are used for eligible uses no later than March 11, 2023.
