IDS legacy of impacting lives of the marginalized communities continues with its former partners - Over 25 years ago, IDS helped GRAVIS in Rajasthan launch its water conservation and harvesting initiatives in the dry areas of Rajasthan. It is such an honor to see GRAVIS has continued this work and changed the landscape of some of the most arid regions of Rajasthan and provide sustainable livelihood for the local communities in that region.

Summer Solstice for few of the IDS Board and volunteers got even more enlightening with an engaging dialogue with one of the founding members, S.R.Hiremath at a beautiful Hobson Green Park, Naperville on June 21st, 2023

A true catalyst who left his lucrative career in the US after planting a seed of an organization called India Development Service (IDS) 50 years ago to serve the poorest of the poor. His amazing journey from "Riches to Rags" to serve the underprivileged was truly inspiring to the new Board members and volunteers. We thank him and other founding members of IDS for starting an organization that is about to celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. Stay tuned for exciting events planned for 2024!

Youth have the potential to be critical thinkers, change-makers, innovators and great leaders. If given the opportunity, support and space, they can make a tremendous impact on the world making it a better place to live.
With the support of IDS’s grant, we could develop leadership among the youth and educators and encouraged active citizenship among them by equipping youths with the skills, knowledge and confidence in their abilities. They are now the advocates of quality education, gender equality and conflict management. A 4-day residential workshop with the participants over conflict handling modes gave an intensive understanding of the importance of managing the conflicts and responding styles to maintain peace in everyday life.
We are very grateful for the support extended by IDS to transform the lives of the young people belonging from rural Udaipur which lies in the Indian subcontinent. Thank you C*C and Pravah for all their love, mentoring and support during the whole journey :)
