Oak Park Public Library Rules of Engagement on the Oak Park Library's page:

Welcome to our Oak Park Library's Facebook community. We welcome and encourage open dialogue.

Social Media Policy: bit.ly/4hIBQpi

Founded in 1945, the City of Oak Park has a rich history as an integral inner-ring suburb of Detroit with approximately 30,000 residents within 5.16 square miles. The mission of the Oak Park Public Library is to provide the community with materials, services and information that meets diverse educational, cultural and recreational needs and interests. This is a

forum for the City to engage with our patrons. Understand, however, that attacks or negative comments pertaining to race, orientation, political affiliation, public official, gender or organization will not be permitted. We believe it is best to stick to the issues and not make personal attacks of any kind. The use of profanity, name calling or any form of bullying will not be allowed. These kinds of posts, as well as their authors, may be deleted at our discretion without warning. We ask that you avoid dissention and keep conversation family-friendly and respectful with others, even if you disagree on a topic or idea. It is okay to express your own views, but please refrain from speaking for, or misleading, others. Opinions and statements are solely those of the commenters and should not be perceived as those of the City’s. We believe these measures help ensure that our page remains a welcoming forum for all to feel comfortable engaging.

🚨FYI🚨 June 6th Family Fun Fest Delayed for Safety — New Date: September 12. We hope to see you in September! See this post for more details.

𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘:

🚨 June 6th Family Fun Fest Delayed for Safety — New Date: September 12 🚨

Out of an abundance of caution, and with safety as our top priority, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule this Saturday’s Family Fun Fest on 9 Mile. 💔

While forecasts vary on the exact timing of the rain, many models are predicting scattered thunderstorms and high winds. Because this is a fully outdoor event featuring metal tents, we cannot safely operate under these conditions.

👉 New Date: Mark your calendar for September 12, and join us for a fun “last hurrah” around back-to-school!

We’re so grateful to our incredible vendors, volunteers, and sponsors, and we truly appreciate your understanding. Please help spread the word and save the date for September!
