Founded in 1945, the City of Oak Park has a rich history as an integral inner-ring suburb of Detroit with approximately 30,000 residents within 5.16 square miles. The mission of the Oak Park Public Library is to provide the community with materials, services and information that meets diverse educational, cultural and recreational needs and interests. This is a
forum for the City to engage with our patrons. Understand, however, that attacks or negative comments pertaining to race, orientation, political affiliation, public official, gender or organization will not be permitted.
