Today kicks-off our annual Season of Giving!

It’s that time of year again where so many are looking for ways to serve others and this season, possibly the best thing you can give is your support.

Over the next two months, we will be highlighting the growing mental health needs of our communities and showcasing the profound impact that NAMI MS has in improving the lives of those living with mental health conditions in our shared communities.

100% of proceeds go to mental health programing for families and individuals who are searching for hope when it feels impossible to find. Every gift, big or small, translates to courage and hope for those who are suffering.

Happy World Mental Health Day! 💙 Mental health is just as important as physical health. The world is waking up to an increased need for mental health support services. 1 in 5 U.S. adults experiences a mental illness. A recent (2021) study shows that 84% of Americans agree that stigma is a major barrier to accessing treatment for mood disorders.

Mental health issues can happen to any one of us, so it's important that we recognize the signs and support each other and ourselves with compassion and good listening skills, leaving no room for judgement or stigma.

NAMI's Living Rooms and Drop-In Center are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Whether you are experiencing steep challenges or just need someone to talk to, we are here for you. Let's sit together 💛

Most of us would know how to help if we saw someone having a heart attack—we’d start CPR, or at the very least, call 9-1-1. But too few of us would know how to respond if we saw someone having a panic attack or if we were concerned that a friend or co-worker might be showing signs of alcoholism.

Mental Health First Aid takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health and substance use problems by improving understanding and providing an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address a potential mental illness or substance use disorder.

When more people are equipped with the tools they need to start a dialogue, more people can get the help they need. Mental Health First Aiders can even save lives. More than 2.5 million people across the United States have been trained in Mental Health First Aid. Join the movement.
