Building Inspector and Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Day was on Tuesday September 1st. We might be a little late, but we truly appreciate the work Oak Point’s Code Enforcement Officer and Building Inspector Steven does everyday! Thank you Steven for the important work you do to help keep our community safe, comfortable, and thriving.
From inspecting construction and ensuring projects meet code requirements to addressing property concerns and helping residents understand the rules, their work often happens behind the scenes but it makes a big difference every day. Steven’s work begins before a house’s foundation has even been poured and continues all the way to the building final. His work ethic and rapport among the builders he works with stands out as firm but fair with a fantastic dedication to attention to detail.
August Building Stats of Steven’s Work
Building Inspections Completed: 242

Thank you, Steven, for your dedication, professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to our community. We appreciate everything you do!

September is Su***de Prevention Month.
September is a time to raise awareness about su***de prevention, encourage meaningful conversations about mental health, and remind one another that help is available.
Throughout the month, the City of Oak Point will be sharing information and resources such as, Oak Point United Against Su***de, a local organization dedicated to su***de prevention awareness, education, and support. Their work helps connect individuals and families with valuable tools and resources during difficult times.

Yesterday marked an exciting milestone for the City of Oak Point and our Emergency Medical Service! Through the generosity and partnership of Denton County and Siddons-Martin Emergency Group, Oak Point became the first city in the county to receive one of eight new Braun Chief XL ambulances being distributed to strengthen emergency medical service coverage in areas with identified service gaps. The ambulances were made possible through funding provided by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), reflecting Denton County's continued commitment to investing in public safety and serving communities across the county.

Mayor Dena Meek, Councilmembers Paul Bastiach, Larry D'Amato, and Greg Weiler, City Manager Noah A. Simon, Fire Chief Whitten, and Fire Battalion Chief’s Olson and Sansig attended the presentation ceremony at Denton County Commissioners Court. On behalf of the City of Oak Point and our residents, we express heartfelt gratitude to County Judge the Honorable Andy Eads, Commissioners Ryan Williams, Kevin Falconer, Bobbie Mitchell, and Dianne Edmondson, Fire Marshal Chief Brad Sebastian, and the entire Denton County team for their leadership, partnership, and dedication to improving emergency services for communities throughout Denton County.

Receiving this ambulance is more than just adding a new vehicle to our fleet. It is an investment in the health, safety, and well-being of Oak Point residents. This new unit will enhance our ability to provide timely, high-quality emergency medical care and help ensure that our first responders have the tools they need when every second counts.

We are deeply thankful to Denton County for this extraordinary loan and for the collaborative spirit that continues to strengthen our community. Together, we are building a safer and more resilient future for Oak Point.

Be sure to scroll down for a sneak peek of Oak Point's newest ambulance and photos from this special presentation ceremony as we celebrate this exciting day for our city and Emergency Medical Service!
