Guilford County said: “Y’all had your fun… that’s enough.” 🔥🚫

As of today, Guilford County is back under a burn ban. That means:

❌ No burn piles
❌ No backyard “it’s just a little fire” fires
❌ No “but I’m watching it, I promise” fires

Basically, if it involves flames and a questionable decision… it’s a no.

We know, we know… you were just about to burn that pile that’s been sitting there since 2017. Timing is tough like that.

All jokes aside — it’s dry, it’s windy, and fire spreads faster than rumors at the firehouse kitchen table. Let’s not turn a small pile into a big problem (or give us extra paperwork).

Hold off on the burning, keep it safe, and we’ll let you know when it’s back on the menu. 👨‍🚒🔥

Today, we’re celebrating the moms who show up every single day—strong, selfless, and full of love. The ones who keep families moving, hold everything together, and somehow make it all look easy.

Whether they’re at home, at work, or even answering the call right alongside us… moms are the heart of our community.

Alright, be honest… 👀
What’s the wildest excuse you’ve ever thought about using to try and drive around a fire truck blocking the road? 🚗💨

We’ve probably heard it all — “I’m just going right there,” “It’ll only take a second,” or the classic slow roll like we won’t notice 😅

But here’s the not-so-funny part…

When the road is shut down, it’s not us being difficult — it’s us trying to keep everyone safe. Under North Carolina General Statutes § 20-114.1, you’re required to slow down, move over, and NEVER drive around an emergency scene or barricade.

🚒 When we block a road, there’s a reason:

* Someone may be seriously hurt
* Crews could be working in the roadway
* There could be hazards you can’t see yet

Trying to sneak through doesn’t just break the law — it puts firefighters, EMS, and the people we’re trying to help at risk.

We promise… we want to open the road just as bad as you want to get through it.

👉 So next time you see cones, lights, and trucks across the road:
Hit the brakes, hang tight, and give us a minute to do our job safely.

🚨🔥 The burn ban has officially been LIFTED in Guilford County as of 8AM this morning!

And we’ve got a special guest from N.C. Forest Service in today’s video to help break it all down (because sometimes it just sounds better coming from someone official 👀)

We know… some of y’all have been staring at that brush pile like it owes you money 😅🌿🔥

BUT before you go full bonfire mode:
✅ Make sure conditions are safe
✅ Keep water/a hose nearby
✅ Don’t leave it unattended
✅ And most importantly — get your burn permit!

We want everybody to enjoy getting back to burning—but safely. Because nothing ruins your day faster than your “little burn pile” turning into a neighborhood event 🚒

Not a bad looking crew for a bunch of folks who talk about safety all day 😎🚒

We sent a part of our Public Education Division to learn and they had a great time at the Safe Kids North Carolina 2026 conference, learning new ways to keep our communities (and especially our kids) safe, while also getting to hang out with some solid people in the fire service, law enforcement, healthcare, Ems, and many other disciplines!

This week they learned about things like: Youth fire setter prevention, community risk reduction, missing children on the autism spectrum, human trafficking, and many other topics!

Our crews are always working to learn more, get better, and bring that knowledge back home to serve our community the best way we can. Good training, good laughs, and a few ideas we’re excited to put into action.

We’re currently under a burn ban, which means no outdoor burning right now.

🌧️ Don’t let the rain fool you — the burn ban stays in place until it’s officially lifted.

Once conditions improve, and the ban is lifted, don’t forget—you’ll still need a FREE burn permit from the North Carolina Forest Service before burning. www.ncagr.gov

Reminder the burn ban is active!

🚨 IMPORTANT FIRE SAFETY ALERT 🚨

Due to extremely dry conditions and gusty winds, Guilford County is at an INCREASED RISK for wildfires today.

🚫 The BURN BAN remains in effect for all of Guilford County. This includes all open burning, regardless of distance from your home.

Our crews are authorized to extinguish any open fire found during this ban to protect our community. Please do your part—don't burn, and report any smoke immediately to 911.
