At Girls Inc. of Tennessee Valley, kindness means showing care for others and ourselves, one choice at a time. Through Lead from Here: Character in Action, girls are exploring how their words and actions can help others feel seen and supported.

What does kindness look like in your day?

Thank you, Sharon Hannum!
We are so grateful to Sharon Hannum for delivering an inspiring keynote at our Day of the Girl Luncheon!

Sharon was Alcoa's first woman Unit Supervisor and spent 30 years there. She has also spent a lifetime serving Blount County and mentoring young women. Her story is the kind of trailblazing we hope every girl in our programs knows is possible. She reminded everyone in the room that leadership is rooted in service, courage, and lifting others as you climb.

Sharon, thank you for sharing your journey with us and for showing our girls what it looks like to be truly Strong, Smart & Bold!

October is National Bullying Prevention Month.

Every girl deserves to feel safe, included, and valued. At Girls Inc. of Tennessee Valley, we encourage girls to speak up when something isn’t right, show kindness to others, and know they can turn to a trusted adult for support.

This month and every month, let’s help create spaces where girls can be themselves and grow up strong, smart, and bold.

Happy International Day of the Girl!

Every girl has a voice, ideas, and the power to shape what comes next. Today, we celebrate the girls who are discovering who they are and the change they want to lead.

To every girl in our community: your voice matters. Your dreams matter. We can’t wait to see where you go.
