The August Chamber Ambassador meeting was hosted by Portal Perk at Portal 4, where Ambassadors enjoyed samples of a variety of “mini” drinks and got a sneak peek at the upcoming fall drink menu.

Located on the Atomic History Campus, Portal Perk offers a variety of house-made hot and iced coffees, Red Bull energy drink mixes, pastries, sweet treats, and more. It’s a convenient spot to grab a drink or treat while visiting the K-25 History Center.

A special thank you to the Portal Perk staff for their warm hospitality, delicious samples, and for giving our Ambassadors a preview of what’s brewing this Fall!

Next Tuesday, September 1, you're invited to join us at Coffee & Commerce hosted by Hampton Inn Oak Ridge, TN for a meaningful program highlighting the history and lasting legacy of the Scarboro 85.

Representatives from the Scarboro 85 Monument Foundation will share the vision behind the monument being created to honor the 85 courageous black students who integrated Oak Ridge High School and Robertsville Junior High School in 1955.

This is a special opportunity to learn the story behind the monument before the community celebrates its official groundbreaking just a few days later!

We're proud to celebrate the Scarboro 85 Monument Foundation as it breaks ground on a lasting tribute to the courageous 85 students who made history by integrating Oak Ridge High School and Robertsville Junior High School in 1955.

This monument will preserve their legacy, share their story with future generations, and honor an important chapter in both our City of Oak Ridge's history and the nation’s journey toward equality.
