Staff from LCFS’ Joliet office recently distributed backpacks and school supplies to our local foster families, helping children get ready for a new school year.

Thank you to all our supporters who helped purchase backpacks and school supplies for the foster children we serve all over the state! Volunteers and staff members stuffed dozens of backpacks at our offices and held back-to-school events for families to pick up supplies. Your generosity helps these kids, from preschool to high school, enjoy a great start to the new school year.

Meet Rebecca! She chose to support children in foster care as part of her journey toward earning her Girl Scout Gold Award. She created 80 comfort bags filled with items to help children feel cared for and comforted during what can be a difficult time.

What a thoughtful project, and such a wonderful way to turn her Girl Scout experience into something that will make a difference for children in our care. Thank you, Rebecca, hard work and big heart! We're so grateful for your support!

LCFS’ Evergreen Park office brought foster families together this month for a fun-filled Back to School Bash!

Families enjoyed time together and celebrated the start of a new school year with food, games, school supplies and more. We’re grateful for every foster parent, caregiver, child and staff person who joined us and helped make the day special.

Here’s to a new school year filled with learning, growth and new possibilities!
