This afternoon, at our bimonthly officers meeting, Chief Richards and Assistant Chief Wharton promoted Captain Toth to Deputy Chief. Deputy Chief Toth has extensive experience at multiple career departments and has the education to back the experience.

Deputy Chief Toth started at North Fayette as a junior firefighter and over the years has obtained numerous proboard certifications to go along with his experience as a career firefighter including Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, Proboard Hazmat, Fire instructor 1 and Fire Officer 1 to name a few. He has excelled in his leadership for the fire department and we look forward to continue growing together in his new role.

Congratulations Deputy Chief Toth!

As the temps start to climb we are asking our community for help with keeping our firefighters hydrated. We are looking for donations of bottles of water or Gatorade. We try to be staffed 24/7, but in an event we are on a call or are not there, you can leave the water by the man door in the front of the station.

If you are not in North Fayette, all fire departments are experiencing the same needs and would appreciate your donation.

We greatly appreciate your support!

Station 209 was dispatched for a multi-vehicle accident with one rolled over at the Tonidale exit westbound on route 22 in North Fayette Township. While enroute, there were reports of one male still in the vehicle with a significant hand injury, upgrading the incident to an entrapment.

209 Chief arrived on scene and confirmed one confined in the rolled over vehicle. A 209 firefighter that happened to be driving by was able to apply the first tourniquet. Initially, the card dispatched only one additional rescue (215) due to the address given by callers. This was quickly noticed, and 245 and 152 were added to supplement the efforts and add manpower as this particular Highway zone normally calls for a minimum of three rescue trucks.

Crews worked to stabilize the vehicle and gain access to the patient, completing extrication 23 minutes from first tourniquet application.

Last evening at 1841 hours the Squad was added to an upgraded assignment to assist Rescue 209 (North Fayette) with a crash with entrapment. One patient was extricated from the auto and transported to a local trauma center. This was our 4th entrapment of the year.
