After nearly 150 years, the paper is being combined by its owners, the Bay Area News Group, into the new East Bay Times. Tribune Tavern and Tribune Tower building owner Tom Henderson (pictured standing far left next to Dave Newhouse, a former Tribune sportswriter and columnist turned author) welcomed the group for tours and paid tribute to the paper's rich history.
