Tell Congress to before Sep 30, 2022, to ensure participants will not lose those critical benefits.

WIC families could lose critical benefits for purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables if Congress fails to act.
The WIC bump increased benefits from $9 to $24 for children and $43 per month for pregnant and postpartum participants, this increase is scheduled to stop on Sep 30th.
The WIC benefit bump enables families with low income to purchase a greater variety and quantity of nutritious fresh foods during critical periods of child development and helps counter the effects of rising food prices.

Use the link below to quickly send your message today and ask Congress to extend these critical nutrition benefits!

Earlier this year, the California Legislature considered a proposal to make healthy food more affordable for Californians with low incomes. The proposal would have provided a penny-for-penny rebate for people buying California-grown fresh fruits and vegetables with CalFresh dollars at participating retailers. Though the proposal didn’t pass, the momentum behind it demonstrated strong legislative interest in the idea, bipartisan support and positive response from people who see the value in expanding an existing program that reduces hunger, improves health and supports California’s agricultural economy.
