Established in 2002, the Oakland Tennessee Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department was formed with a vision to strengthen the community and provide a quality of life that flourishes with the growth of the area. rday, August 23, 2008, Cypress Creek Park, our fourth Town Park, was dedicated. The OPRCA department has an outstanding partnership with the YMCA, which provides the area youth with spring and fall soccer. The Young Champions Program, for youth cheerleading, has attained national recognition. The Department has an unwavering commitment to ensure the citizens of Oakland and the surrounding area have quality programs to develop both mind and body. Community involvement is the key to achieving a high quality of life, which is the goal of the Oakland Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department. It is what makes Oakland not just a great place to own a home or start a business, but a great place to live!
