MARKETING AND PROMOTION: Promote your business through such vehicles as the OAACC website and advertising opportunities on KICU-TV36 and the KTVU.com website. BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Take advantage of referrals, procurement information, and other business expansion opportunities that OAACC promotes exclusively for its members.

LA Grant Program! Opened December 14th
https://www.tmccommunitycapital.org/lagrants

From local restaurants and retail storefronts to neighborhood salons and coffee shops, over the last year we have seen the pandemic take an economic and emotional toll on far too many small businesses who are now forced to close their doors.

Across the country we know minority entrepreneurs and small businesses face the greatest challenge, as long-standing issues like inequitable access to access to capital have only been amplified by the pandemic.

As Los Angeles remains at the top of the list for small business closures to date (Yelp), we wanted to do more.

With a generous donation from FOUND/LA, an initiative of Wurwand Foundation, and the outreach support from Small Business Majority, we are launching a new grant program called the FOUND/LA Small Business Recovery Fund to protect small businesses across Los Angeles County that make our neighborhoods feel like home.

HAPPENING TODAY at 6pm! Managing your finances
http://www.bwopatileleads.org/levelup

When the pandemic caused our economy to shut down, our community of local businesses, freelancers, entrepreneurs had to reassess and recalibrate to a new environment of commerce.

Led by consultants, leadership coaches, social entrepreneurs, and fiscal managers, we have curated a business development series to help you start reimagining your success, provide guidance, templates, models and assessments for your toolbox and opportunity for peer-to-peer learning.

In partnership with the Urban League of the Greater Bay Area. Participants who attend all four workshop sessions will receive a Certificate of of Achievement. All attendees have a chance to win a certificate for free coaching services.

Oakland Restaurant Week Returns in January 2021
The City’s marketing partner Visit Oakland will promote Oakland Restaurant Week 2021 from January 7 to 18.

Visit Oakland staff invite restaurants and food-and-drink-related businesses – such as independent wine shops, breweries, community markets and caterers – to join in the promotion that encourages locals to spend their money supporting Oakland businesses.

New this year, the special doesn’t have to have a prix fix menu – it could be a new menu item, a new to-go combo or a complimentary appetizer.

The Visit Oakland team can update your details on their website. Email [email protected] with the details on your Restaurant Week special.

WASHINGTON — President-elect Joe Biden is expected to nominate Retired Gen. Lloyd Austin as the nation's defense secretary, according to two people familiar with the decision.
If confirmed, Austin, 67, a retired four-star Army general and former head of U.S. Central Command, will be the first African American to fill the position. He was also the first Black American to lead Central Command, which oversees the U.S. military in the Middle East and parts of Africa, Central Asia and South Asia.
