Oakland responded for the second call of the day to a 2 vehicle MVC near Lowe’s on Garrett Highway. ER43 and U48 arrived on scene to find two vehicles with damage in the roadway. Southern Garrett Rescue Squad responded as well. Crews were on scene approximately 30 minutes.

Oakland was alerted as part of a hazmat response team to respond to I-68 for a tractor trailer MVC. U48 and Spill 40 responded as support for Co. 8 (GC Hazmat Team) and Co. 80 (Eastern Garrett). Allegheny County Hazmat Team also responded.

ER43 responded to a reported explosion with smoke inside of a residence earlier today. Crews arrived on scene and narrowed down the issue to a malfunctioning furnace.

Members from the OVFD joined members from Deer Park and Deep Creek ice rescue teams to train together near the Glendale Bridge today. Crews went over several self rescue and victim rescue techniques. Thanks Deer Park for hosting the training.
