East Oakland, CA

East Oakland, CA East Side Oakland . East Oakland is the southeastern portion of Oakland, California, and takes up the largest portion of the city's land area.

It stretches between Lake Merritt in the northwest and San Leandro in the southeast. Many areas of East Oakland have been plagued by high crime in the postwar period and are known for violence and drug activity. These 4 sets are also part of East Oakland's notoriously violent heart. Intersected by the major arteries of 73rd/Hegenberger, Macarthur, San Leandro St., and International, this, as well as the 60's, is in the heart of Oakland's drug trade. Although heavily patrolled by the Oakland Police, little has been done to stop the violence in these neighborhoods. Eastmont mall can be found here. 73rd and 98th are the main routes to the Oakland airport and Oakland's stadium. In the lower portions of all of these neighborhoods are industrial industries, but the majority of land in this area is residential. The neighborhoods are gaining a more family-safe feel and the trees along the creek are lovely. Oakland remains a town of interest and charisma. However, it should be noted that in recent years Oakland suffered a 50% raise in homicides to the highest since 1992. Although identified by the Oakland Police as "the killing zone", these areas are not as dangerous as would otherwise be thought. Most of the violence is directed to and from drug dealers, and not at normal residents. Many areas have become much less dangerous in recent years and now certainly does have some sort of a family feel. Deep East Oakland seems to be the most dangerous part of Oakland, where 90% of the murders every year occur. The area between 70th and 109th Avenues and near the airport became notorious, starting in the 1980s, as one of the most violent and drug/gang dominated regions in the state, after much of the area experienced a drastic socioeconomic decline following the 1970s; prior to this, most of East Oakland was middle-class and almost suburban in nature. Oakland is a large, urban center that is reputed to have a high level of criminal activity, but you must be clear that like in any American city, there are predictable places where life is more, or less, dangerous meaning that some parts aresomewhat dangerous, while others are far more dangerous.

All your taxes are collected in a pool of money that the city then uses to pay the Oakland police department 330 MILLION annually! OPD consumes the most re$ources (~44%of all our money). Loren Taylor is one of the city council members representing East oakland and did some slick s**t where he didn’t post the budget online for us to see until the last minute. All that protesting for what? Him and other council members only cut 14.6 million from the humongous budget of 330 million. Our city is prioritizing cops over communities. Tell him that ain’t right
This comfortable and good standard of living I now enjoy with my family, is all thanks to you ma'am MRS MICHELLE MIDRED, before now I had a low income and did a lot of online trade which no profit, but you can like an angle and change all of that in just one week, you turned my $600 to $8,450 with your intelligence as an expert and from that day I had made more profit each week investing more, there is no amount of thanks that will be enough for what you have done for me and my family, but I promise ma'am I will speak of your honesty, handwork and trust to the world, this is dream come true for me for finding a legit account manager like you, I advice the entire public to invest with MRS MICHELLE MIDRED cox and be financially sable contact her on the following WhatsApp: +1(910)227-4380 Email: [email protected]
Friends, I started a GoFundMe to extend financial help to small business owners in Oakland Chinatown. They suffered unimaginable property damage from yesterday's protests. Times are tough and I fear that the pandemic and recent events will permanently close beloved family-owned businesses. I've never done this before but I really want to find a way to help them get back on their feet. Please help me raise money for them. Share the link to reach more people.
What's up East Oakland! For those of you who don't know me, I'm a hospital medicine doctor at UCSF who lives here with my family. We are seeing a spike in COVID cases in Alameda County. The zip codes most affected in Oakland are the same ones impacted by the air pollution from the AB&I Foundry. Studies show that people exposed to chronic levels of air pollutants have worse outcomes if they contract the virus, because of chronic inflammation in the lungs from air pollution. We are also seeing viral particles on air pollution particles, meaning that it could be spreading through the air from polluters. While we cannot stop traffic indefinitely and while we work to electrify our state, we can do a few things to protect our community. Call Alameda Public Health Department at 510 267-8000 and ask them to issue a public health directive to stop the air pollution from our area's biggest stationary source air polluter--the AB&I Foundry. This is in order to protect the public health while this virus circulates. Epidemiological models predict it is with us until the end of 2022. If you smell the AB&I Foundry (a burnt plastic smell), register your complaint online here: https://calepacomplaints.secure.force.com/complaints/ They are under current investigation for impacting the public with their releases. Our reports are having an impact. Please keep them coming. They have been issued a violation in February and while our government agencies are working, please keep raising your voice. With COVID we are now seeing the devastating impact that allowing this pollution to continue in Oakland is having disproportionately on Black, Brown and Poor community. Please raise your voice to help stop this pollution once and for all. Every call and every complaint matters. Thank you! Dr Rupa Marya Associate Professor of Medicine, UCSF
