*** NOTICE: TEMPORARY ROAD / BRIDGE CLOSURE ***
Old Hwy 99N at Oakland Bridge

(Douglas County, Ore.) - The Douglas County Public Works Department will be closing Old Highway 99N at Oakland Bridge to all traffic between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021 for a routine bridge inspection.

The Oakland Bridge (also known as the Calapooya Creek Bridge) is located on the Oakland-Shady Highway (Old Highway 99 North, MP 1.08) at the northwest end of the town of Oakland (NE 1st Street where it crosses over Calapooya Creek). Northbound traffic will be detoured to Stearns Lane. Southbound traffic will be detoured to Green Valley Road.

Please note that the road closure may impact your drive time. Safety is always a priority for the motoring public, and we are asking motorists to use caution as they travel, and utilize the detours in this area.

The City of Oakland is not in immediate danger from the fire in the Glide area. For the best information please refer to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office page. There is no need to use water to protect your home at this time. The Sheriff’s Office has recommended that everyone in Douglas County be at fire preparedness level 1, which means make yourself ready should there be a need for evacuation in the future.
