OYE: Oakland Youth Engaged at The Unity Council

is a free long-term training program that is open to Oakland youth residents who are between the ages of 14-18 years old. Our program develops leadership skills in youth by providing opportunities to gain employment skills and knowledge through workshops, civic engagement, service learning projects and hands-on experience. While building friendships with their peers, youth will also learn about is

sues in their community, and put together a Youth Public Forum to address issues that affect them. At the end of the program, youth will develop a personal education and employment plan, focus on obtaining summer jobs and internships.
