Open Letter to our customers :

As our community continues adjusting to the new water system, we want to remind everyone to have compassion, patience, and understanding as the remaining issues are being worked through.
Our engineers, project managers, water department staff, and workers are continuing to address concerns, troubleshoot problems, and work toward getting everything operating as it should. There are many moving parts involved, and they are doing their very best to respond to the demands and requests placed before them while also keeping up with the day-to-day responsibilities of operating our water system.

It is important to remember that the new system brings changes to how water flows through our community. Introducing a new flow of water into older pipes after 20 + years can stir up sediment and require flushing of the lines, which can temporarily affect water clarity and other aspects of service. These are issues that take time to identify, understand, and properly resolve. Hydrant Flushing is starting September 1st, 2026, due to the many complaints/concerns that have been received. Starting point : Third and N Aurora Ave

We are fortunate to have this new system and the improvements it brings to our community. While we all understandably want everything to work perfectly and immediately, the reality is that projects of this size require time, adjustments, and problem-solving along the way.

Please know that the people working behind the scenes are not ignoring concerns. They are listening, working, testing, adjusting, and doing everything they can to accomplish the many demands and requests being brought to them.

A little compassion goes a long way. Please be patient with the workers, engineers, project managers, and everyone involved as they work through the challenges and learn how the new system is interacting with our existing infrastructure.

We may not see everything happening behind the scenes, but a great deal of work is taking place. Let’s give those working to improve our community the time and understanding they need to get things figured out and working as they should.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. We APOLOGIZE for all the inconvenience it has caused – there were situations that were not predicted when start up was done.
