Young Sparks Foundation

Young Sparks Foundation YSF is an Mentor Program which inspires local youth to learn welding and creative metal fabrication skills. Visit AirBnB.com "Experiences" to book

YSF relies on donations and proceeds from Welding and Metal Sculpture adult classes. There is an overwhelming deficit of skilled workers in the welding, fabrication, machine technology, and structural engineering industries. I believe many Professional Artists, like myself, enjoy teaching and inspiring others. So why not create an teen program and summer camp which offers these valueble skills? Yo

ung people today love the challenge and the "instant" gratification of building something tangible. With supervision, graduates of YSF apprentice program will have acquired valuable skills needed to gain immediate employment in the industrial trades. Youth will also be encouraged to pursue higher education to advance their career as a professional trades person, artist, or engineer and hopefully, inspire and teach others themselves. Long term goals of YSF include expanding the program to include robotics, electronics, carpentry and other industrial trades. Any professionals in those fields interested in joining YSF are welcome to contact me. If you believe that "Youth are our future" then, you understand the importance for this Foundation to succeed. Physical, tangible or Monetary are welcome. Thank you kindly,

Our Story

Most Professional Artists enjoy inspiring and teaching young people. So why not create an after-school and/or summer program which allows artists to offer apprenticeships to young people? This is what the Young Sparks Foundation is trying to make happen. In a program offered through the YSF, a young person will be given the opportunity to assist in the fabrication of a professional art piece. With guidance and training from the artist who works with them, he/she will gain skills to use in real-world industrial and professional trades. In addition, the Teens will be encouraged to pursue higher education to further their career as a professional artist, a trades person, an engineer, or possibly a teacher of the trades. There is an overwhelming demand for individuals in the industrial trades such as welding, fabrication, machine technology, and structural engineering. At Young Sparks Foundation, our initial focus will be to offer skills those trades. Artists who incorporate welding and metal fabrication will be our first program. Long term goals include expanding the program to include robotics, electronics, carpentry and other industrial trades. Young people love the challenges and the instant gratification of building something tangible. If you believe that "Youth are our future" then, you understand the importance for this Foundation to succeed. Any size donation is greatly appreciate at this time.
