The James Oliver Community Writing Center is open for the fall 2022 session and can assist students with their writing assignments.

In addition to the Online Tutoring Services offered by the Writing Center, we wanted to remind you that the Writing Center Drop-In Lab (in room B260) is open. Peralta Students can use the computer resources to type and print out their writing assignments.
The fall hours for the Drop-In lab are Monday-Thursday, 9am-6pm, and Friday, 9am-3pm.

The Writing Center is an “across the curriculum” writing resource for Laney students. If a class has a writing component, we can assist students with writing assignments. For example, we work with students taking English, ESOL, speech, sociology, psychology, biology, art history, music appreciation, etc. Students can go to the Writing Center’s web page to get the instructions on scheduling online tutoring appointments and submitting their writing assignments. Happy Birthday Chris Brown Poet you were the heart and soul of the writing center. Cannot put it in words how much we all miss you. Thank you for coming into our lives and making the center a better place, and for creating a safe space for students to learn, to thrive, to be allowed to make mistakes and rectify them, and to be allowed to be themselves. Love you very much Chris, hope you resting peacefully in heaven.
