šŸ“š SEPTEMBER IS LIBRARY CARD SIGN-UP MONTH — AND WE’RE BRINGING BACK AN ICON!

Do you remember those famous READ posters hanging in libraries and schools?

First launched by the American Library Association in 1985, the iconic READ campaign featured celebrities, musicians, athletes, and beloved characters posing with a favorite book—all with one BIG message:

**READ.**

This September, we’re putting our own Paulding County Carnegie Library spin on this library classic by featuring some familiar faces from our libraries!

And kicking off our READ Poster series is **Stephanie McCullough, Library Clerk at the Antwerp Branch Library!**

Stephanie loves sharing the joy of books with our youngest readers, so we couldn’t think of a better person to help us start celebrating **Library Card Sign-Up Month.**

Throughout September, watch for more familiar library faces and our very own versions of the nostalgic READ posters!

And while you’re here… **do you have your library card?**

September is the perfect month to stop into the Paulding County Carnegie Library or one of our branches and discover just how much one little card can give you.

**GET THE CARD. OPEN THE DOOR. READ.** šŸ“š

Some people leave behind songs. Some leave behind stories.
Dolly Parton leaves behind millions of little readers.

As we remember Dolly Parton, we celebrate a woman who understood something libraries hold close to our hearts: putting a book into the hands of a child can open an entire world.

Here at the Paulding County Carnegie Library, we are especially proud to be part of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, helping bring the joy of books directly into the homes of children throughout Paulding County. Through this wonderful program, children from birth to age five can receive a FREE book in the mail every month, helping families build home libraries and create a love of reading from the very beginning.

Her music made her a legend, but her generosity, kindness, and passion for childhood literacy created a legacy that will continue every time a child opens a book, listens to a bedtime story, or excitedly discovers a new adventure waiting inside the pages.

From all of us at the Paulding County Carnegie Library, thank you, Dolly.

You helped raise generations of readers—and through the Imagination Library, your love of books will continue inspiring little readers for generations to come. ā¤ļøšŸ“š

Friday Staff Pick: Find the Sun

This week’s Friday Staff Pick comes from Stephanie at the Antwerp Branch Library! If you’ve joined us for children’s story time, you may already know Stephanie and the joy she brings to sharing stories with our littlest readers.

Stephanie’s pick is Find the Sun by Andy Harkness, a beautifully illustrated story about Eddie, who is having a hard time facing the day until an unexpected friend takes him on an adventure. Little by little, Eddie discovers his courage and learns that even when things feel stormy, there is still light to be found.

With Stephanie’s love of sunshine and animals, this sweet story feels like the perfect pick for her!

And we found a line from the book that fits Stephanie’s sunny personality perfectly:

ā€œThrough any storm, you can always find the sun.ā€ ā˜€ļø

Stop by the Antwerp Branch Library and check out Stephanie’s Friday Staff Pick. Maybe it will bring a little extra sunshine to your day, too!
