**** Post is no longer current. ****

Accumulating snow is forecast to begin Friday morning and last through Saturday evening. A dry and powdery snow is forecast. Can't rule out some localized blowing snow Friday afternoon. Be aware as well especially if traveling that bitterly cold temperatures are forecast for the duration of this snow event. The combination of the snow and cold temperatures will also pose a risk to livestock and pets outdoors.

** * UPDATE 1030pm Wednesday: High Wind Warning for Thursday now goes into effect at MIDNIGHT (instead of 6 AM)...to account for possibility of brief 50-60 MPH gust potential overnight/early Thurs AM

A High Wind Warning remains in effect for our entire area on Thursday:
HOWEVER, the warning now starts at Midnight/12 AM to account for the first of TWO SEPARATE periods of very strong winds:

1) Mainly between 12-4 AM, a brief/initial surge of north-northwesterly gusts as high as 50-60 MPH will race south across our forecast area (these high winds won't last very long at any given location).

2) The "main event" for high winds is still expected DURING THE DAYLIGHT HOURS on Thursday...as we are expecting several hours of sustained northwest winds as high as 35-45 MPH...gusts as high as 55-65 MPH.
