The Decatur County Museum is so excited to have Colonel Rudolph J. Dichtl in Oberlin on Monday, August 10 to speak about a project he was involved in – the Shroud of Turin Research Project (STRUP).

The Shroud of Turin has long been a source of fascination. First documented in France in the 14th century, the 14-foot-long linen cloth purportedly wrapped the body of Jesus after he was crucified some 2,000 years ago.

Of the original 36 members of STRUP, Col. Dichtl is one of the 12 remaining members to have examined the Shroud cloth.

Interest is high across Decatur County and our neighboring communities. Admission August 10th will be a free-will donation with all proceeds going towards siding for the museum's historic St. Mark’s Church. Come enjoy Col. Dichtl's presentation and help us preserve for future generations this beautiful piece of history.
