Thank you to Ocala Metro Chamber and Economic Partnership and World Equestrian Center - Ocala for hosting our CTE NEXTworking event! Students had the opportunity to connect with business and industry leaders, explore careers in their program areas, and engage with interactive displays from our event partners. That’s a wrap on the inaugural Classroom to Careers Training!

A huge thank you to Ocala Metro Chamber and Economic Partnership for helping us strengthen the connection between industry and the classroom. During this four-day experience, middle school teachers and school counselors explored a variety of industries throughout Marion County, gaining valuable insights to bring back to their students.

The training culminated in a pitch contest, where school teams presented innovative plans for increasing career awareness on their campuses.

Congratulations to the team from Lake Weir Middle School, whose winning proposal earned a $2,000 award to help bring their vision to life!

Aaron Ali, a senior in West Port High’s Engineering Program, was recently awarded the 2026 Construction Career Day Scholarship. Aaron, with the help of his instructor Mrs. Bethea, wrote an essay about how attending Construction Career Day impacted him and his future plans. Our middle school culinary programs are on 🔥! Osceola Middle culinary students participated in Food Trucks Wars and had a hot dog contest. Belleview Middle culinary students explored dishes from around the world. We can’t wait to see what else these programs have got cooking!
