Thank you to the Ocala Metro Chamber and Economic Partnership for a great first day of Classroom to Careers! Over the next four days, teachers will be immersed in our local industries, learning about career opportunities that help broaden our students’ horizons and connect classroom learning to future careers.

Aaron Ali, a senior in West Port High’s Engineering Program, was recently awarded the 2026 Construction Career Day Scholarship. Aaron, with the help of his instructor Mrs. Bethea, wrote an essay about how attending Construction Career Day impacted him and his future plans. Congratulations to Aaron, we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you!

Our middle school culinary programs are on 🔥! Osceola Middle culinary students participated in Food Trucks Wars and had a hot dog contest. Belleview Middle culinary students explored dishes from around the world. We can’t wait to see what else these programs have got cooking!

Today Lake Weir High Construction Academy students attended the Marion County Building Industry Association student job fair. At this event, MCBIA helped to make connections between students and industry to continue building the pipeline from education to careers.

We are fortunate to be able to offer articulated college credit for all of our CTE programs. Dunnellon High career pathways seniors who qualify for possible free credits met with advisors to learn about the opportunity! Meetings for qualifying seniors will be taking place at all 7 high schools 🎓.

Today, we held the 2nd annual LWHS Construction Academy Hiring Fair! At this event, students in the LWHS construction pre-apprenticeship program are matched with employers for summer internships. Special thanks to Academy of Construction Technologies (ACT) for hosting this event!
