More than 400 Marion County Public Schools Food & Nutrition Services team members came together today for their Back to School meeting. Last year, this incredible team served 9.7 MILLION meals to students across our district! 🍎💙

When school is out for summer, many families face challenges in accessing consistent, nutritious meals. To help bridge this gap, William Ostrander and his team- Kristine, Laura, Casin, and Glenda- have been dedicating their summer to distributing 7-day meal kits at 10 rural locations across Marion County. These take-home kits provide pre-packaged breakfasts and lunches meant to last several days. Thank you all for your dedication and hard work!

We are proud to celebrate Ramona Belcher, Marion County Public Schools Food & Nutrition Services Supervisor, who has been recognized by General Mills Foodservice as a national Trayblazer!!

From starting as a substitute to leading nutrition services for 51 schools, Ramona’s work is driven by care, compassion, and the belief that every student deserves meals they can count on. Her leadership has expanded farm-to-school programs, school gardens, hydroponics, and meal access beyond the school day.
