Election morning thoughts from the Judge…
🇺🇸 Today is Election Day. 🇺🇸
It’s time to reflect on this campaign. As a trial lawyer, I always took time to reflect and evaluate my performance BEFORE the jury returned a verdict, so I will do the same today, and I’d like to share my thoughts with you.
I am proud of the campaign I have run. We kept it positive and about qualifications and experience. I did not respond to the negative attacks, lies and accusations from the other side. It was not easy for me to stay quiet, but the position of a Judge is unique, and I am expected to act with integrity at all times, even when being attacked. You deserve a judge with integrity, and I hope that I have shown you who I am by the way I have run this campaign.
My campaign team is amazing. Steve has worked tirelessly for me. Our kids have sacrificed and pitched in for months. If you wonder how loyal your friends are, look over and see them waving signs on a corner in a thunderstorm. I am so grateful for my team, and there is no way I could have done this without them.
Although I am optimistic about today’s election, I know that there’s a possibility it might not go my way, but I am at peace that we worked hard for months and I’m ready to leave it in the voters’ and God’s hands.
Let me tell you…this is a job truly worth fighting for. I am a public servant. I was called to this position and I feel like I am where I am meant to be to serve our community. I get to live the Constitution every day! How cool is that? The weight and importance of my role has never been lost on me.
Lastly, I am humbled by the support shown by my family, my friends, my co-workers and the community. For everyone who has signed a petition, donated money, waved a sign, given an encouraging word, prayed for me, or voted for me…I pledge to you that I will work hard every day to be worthy of your support.
If you haven’t voted yet, please do. It’s important.
