A vehicle collision on SW 33rd Avenue and SW 34th Street resulted in a rollover that left two entrapped.

At approximately 5:36 p.m., Ocala Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision with rollover. Engine 4, Rescue 4, Squad 7, Battalion Chief 11, and a Safety Officer responded.

Crews arrived to find a sedan with moderate front-end damage and a compact SUV on its side. The driver of the sedan was ambulatory. The driver and passenger of the SUV required extrication.

Using Squad 7 as an anchor, crews stabilized the SUV and made entry through the trunk to assess the patients. Once patientsโ€™ needs were identified, crews removed the sunroof and extricated the patients.

Both SUV occupants were transported to the hospital for evaluation.

The Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded.

Between closing off EMS Week (May 17-23) and preparations to honor the fallen on Memorial Day (May 25), our newest hire quietly began his career with OFR. But the silence lasted long enough. Please help us give a warm welcome to Firefighter/EMT Jonathan Hurt, who officially joined the team on May 22nd and has quickly blended in with C-shift.

L to R: Deputy Chief Richie Lietz, Firefighter/EMT Jonathan Hurt, and Fire Chief Clint Welborn.

Today, during the city of Ocalaโ€™s Council Meeting, we had the joy of celebrating Battalion Chief Pat Feagleโ€™s 25 years of dedicated service to Ocala Fire Rescue.

Chief Feagle has been characterized by strong leadership, operational excellence, and his deep commitment to public safety. Rising through the ranks since the early 2000โ€™s, he is widely respected within his department and across the fire service community.

Chief Feagle has spent over two decades on the departmentโ€™s Special Operations Team and Task Force, responding to complex, high-risk incidents. He has deployed multiple times with Task Force and Incident Management Teams, including responses to Hurricane Michael and Hurricane Helene, supporting large-scale disaster operations across Florida.

A passionate advocate for training and development, he serves as a Training Task Force Chair at both the regional and state levels and has instructed at conferences nationwide. He also contributed locally by working for more than a decade at the Florida State Fire College and helping develop a high school Emergency Medical Responder program.
Chief Feagle holds a bachelorโ€™s degree, Fire Officer IV certification, and numerous leadership credentials. His service has earned him multiple honors, including Life Saving Awards, Unit Citations, and Humanitarian Awards. Known as a โ€œgo-toโ€ leader and mentor, he is committed to developing others and building strong teams.

He was also one of three founding members of the Ocala Police SWAT Medic Program, strengthening coordination between fire rescue and law enforcement.

Above all, Chief Feagle values his family. Alongside his wife, Ellie, he has raised four childrenโ€”Michaela, Aidan, Delaney, and Rileyโ€”whom he considers his greatest accomplishment.

Congratulations on this outstanding achievement, BC Feagle! We appreciate your dedication to this fire service family and this community!
