The Beautiful Field

It is really important to open eyes to the poisons we are living with, and dying with in our current world. In February 2017 I took this picture of a beautiful 1000 acre field in full bloom about 2 miles from Shady Grove Preserve. At the time I didn't know what that field would cost my community and my nature preserve, At the time, I thought it was beautiful.

2017 was the year all my pollinators disappeared. Over time we put it all together...
The farmer had poisoned the soil with herbicides (to kill everything in preparation for the mono-crop he was planting. This wiped out all the natural plants that the pollinators normally service.

Then he poisoned the plants he was growing with with pesticides, which wiped out ALL the pollinators who had no other choice than to pollinate his plants. All my pollinators disappeared that summer.

I lost than 30 native pollinator species (that I know about), plus the imported honey bees. Most of my native pollinators, bees, bumbles, pollinating wasps, butterflies, moths, and beetle and bug insects have never been seen again.

"Traveler" my spalted sycamore healing harp that was taken from me July 31, 2018 in Thornton Colorado when car thieves took my SUV Truck and all my personal possessions. They took many things, but Traveler has a life of her own. I pray that she is well where ever she is.

I offer a $1000 reward for her safe return.

My thanksgiving this year is that the turkeys showed up to share a meal. These are Wild Florida Turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo osceola). They live at Shady Grove Preserve in the woodlands and high hammocks most of the year, they only come close to the house and barn once in a while. Here they are come to wish me a happy Thanksgiving and birthday as they begin their courting rituals. I will look forward to seeing the girls bring their poults (chicks) to my yards and pastures to hunt grasshoppers in the spring. Art and video by Marnie Hutcheson

We thought we had them... France has banned this bee killer pesticide, but Bayer has bought a loop hole. Bayer and Monsanto won't go quietly into the grave like our bees and other pollinators. If we want to stay out of our graves and keep our kids for going to their graves before they are even grown, we need to fight these money grubbers. please sign the petition.
