NAMI Florida

NAMI Florida Our page exists to raise awareness about mental well-being and share the valuable resources offered by NAMI Affiliates statewide.

We're here to assure people affected by mental health challenges that they are not alone. At NAMI Florida, we strengthen lives—and strengthen Florida’s behavioral health system. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by mental health conditions through high-quality education, support, and advocacy. As the state organization of the National Alliance on M

ental Illness (NAMI)—the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization with Affiliates in all 50 states—NAMI Florida advances a nationally recognized model of education, support, and advocacy, bringing national standards, national credibility, and a unified, nationwide mission to our work here in Florida. A national movement with statewide impact:
Since 1984, NAMI Florida has served as the statewide hub of a nationwide Alliance. The NAMI Alliance in Florida includes a network of 20 local Affiliates that provide evidence-informed classes, support groups, and community presentations at no cost. Many Affiliates also strengthen Florida’s behavioral health workforce through the 40-hour peer specialist training course. We also partner with employers to build stigma-free workplace cultures that prioritize mental wellness while maintaining healthy professional boundaries and expectations. What sets the NAMI Alliance apart is lived experience:
Across the country—and across Florida—NAMI staff, trainers, and volunteers are individuals who have navigated mental health challenges themselves or supported loved ones through them. This firsthand experience drives program quality, empathy, and trust. As the state organization, NAMI Florida plays a pivotal role in Florida’s behavioral health ecosystem.

- Training & Leadership Development
We train and certify program leaders, facilitators, and presenters to uphold NAMI’s national standards, ensuring that Floridians receive consistent, high-quality support statewide.

- Statewide Warmline
Our Warmline connects callers with compassionate support and links them to their local NAMI Affiliate and other community resources.

- Advocacy & Policy Leadership
Guided by NAMI’s national policy priorities, NAMI Florida champions policies that strengthen access, accountability, and community-based care across Florida. Learn more at www.namiflorida.org. Together, we can advance a stronger, more compassionate mental health system for all Floridians.

Mental health should not be a bad word.

Your gift fights mental health stigma and fuels advocacy for the individuals and families who need it most.

Living with a mental health diagnosis does not make someone less valuable, less capable, or less deserving of support.

Across Florida, thousands of individuals and families are navigating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, addiction, grief, and emotional overwhelm every single day.

At NAMI Florida, we continue moving forward with compassion, education, resources, support, and community so nobody feels forgotten or left behind.

Your monetary donation will propel NAMI FL forward. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Mental health affects everyone — including our middle schoolers, high schoolers, gap-year students, college students, and the young people quietly struggling in between.

No one should have to navigate anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, loneliness, or emotional pain alone.

This Youth Mental Health Week, let’s continue creating spaces where young people feel seen, heard, supported, and safe enough to ask for help. 💜

If today feels heavy, please reach out.
