American Legion Ocala Memorial Post 27 Ocala, FL. American Legion Post 27 has been serving veterans in Ocala since 1919. We invite all veterans and their spouses to join us! politics.

As we continue into our 2nd Century of supporting veterans causes, we hope to expand our services and membership. The American Legion is a social and mutual-aid veterans' organization including members of the United States armed forces. The organization was founded in 1919 by veterans returning from Europe after World War I, and was later chartered as an official American patriotic society under T

itle 36 of the United States Code. The organization is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, and also has offices in Washington, DC. The group has nearly 3 million members in over 14,000 Posts worldwide. In addition to organizing commemorative events and volunteer veteran support activities, the American Legion is active in issue oriented U.S. Its primary political activity is lobbying on behalf of the interests of veterans and service members, including support for veterans benefits such as pensions and the Veterans Affairs hospital system. The Legion has also been involved as a conservative voice in more general political and cultural issues.

Providing materials and services like this is a daily occurrence at Vets Helping Vets USA. Many of the 42,000 veterans in Marion County have now visited the Veterans building at 2730 E. Silver Springs Blvd. or utilized their services. They would gladly give you a tour of their "Grocery Store Style" Food bank, clothing and medical supplies, along with financial support, VA Case Managers who help file for VA Benefits, their Podcast Studio, and they even have a Chapel with a Chaplain on duty.

Vets Helping Vets USA is not a part of any government agency or organization. They exist strictly through donations from individuals and businesses, as well as grants.
