We are sad to report that Wayne Ramsey passed away Thursday, August 21. Wayne started working as a paramedic instructor at the College of Central Florida in 1984, and over the course of three decades, formed CF’s EMS program into the exceptional institution that it is today.

Wayne had an unwavering belief that CF should produce the best paramedics in the industry, and this commitment is reflected in the competence and professionalism of hundreds of paramedics now working in the industry. Wayne was chosen as Paramedic Instructor of the Year by the Florida Association of EMS Educators in 2010.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his friends and family. He will be sorely missed.

The College of Central Florida will close all campuses and sites for Tropical Storm Helene.

The CF Wilton Simpson Citrus Campus and CF Jack Wilkinson Levy Campus will both close at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 25, to provide time to prepare for the storm.

All other CF campuses and sites, including online, will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, and will remain closed through Friday, Sept. 27.

The college plans to reopen Saturday morning for all business operations, weather permitting. Please continue to monitor the CF website (www.CF.edu/Hurricane) and social media for additional updates.
