Kimberly’s Center for Child Protection is a safe, child-focused place where healing begins.

We serve as Marion County’s coordinated response to child abuse, bringing together law enforcement, medical professionals, and therapists under one roof. Here, children can share their story once in a compassionate environment and receive the care they need to move forward.

Through advocacy, expert services, and prevention education, we work to protect children, support families, and create a path toward healing at no cost to those we serve.

What a happens when a child learns they may have to enter foster care?

Our Child Advocates stand beside children in moments of uncertainty, working directly with the Department of Children & Families to provide care, stability, and support. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, they meet both the emotional and physical needs of children while they wait for their first foster placement.

In a moment of overwhelming change, no child is left without comfort, protection, or a steady presence to help them through. Learn more at https://kimberlyscenter.org/

Did you know? In 2024, Kimberly’s Center conducted 557 child interviews, ensuring every child who came through our doors had a safe, trauma-informed space to share their story and be heard.

Behind each interview is a child met with care, belief, and protection at one of the most critical moments in their life.

For kids 11+, digital body safety is just as important as safety in real life. Clear expectations around privacy, personal information, messaging, and online relationships help children recognize unsafe situations and know when to speak up. These conversations are not about fear. They are about equipping children with language, confidence, and trusted adults they can turn to.

When digital boundaries are clear and consistent, children are better protected both online and offline.

Kimberly’s Center is the beginning of safety, truth, and healing.

When a child walks through our doors, they are met with a coordinated response focused on protection, belief, and care. What happens here is not the conclusion of their story, but the first step toward restoring what was taken from them and helping them move forward in a safe and supportive environment.

We exist to ensure that in a moment of crisis, a child is not left to carry it alone, but instead is surrounded by the people and resources needed to begin again.
