Congratulations Eric!!!

Eric Young, an Ocala native, was hired by Ocala Fire Rescue(OFR) in July, 2014. During his first 10 years with OFR, Eric has worked his way through the ranks, from Firefighter/EMT to FEO-R/Paramedic.

Eric currently serves as a Fire Equipment Operator at Station 2.

Thank you for all you have contributed and continue to bring to OFR.

International Firefighters' Day: Celebrating 25 Years of Honoring Fire Service Heroes

On May 4 communities worldwide come together to celebrate International Firefighters' Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the bravery, sacrifices, and tireless efforts of firefighters everywhere.

This year marks a significant milestone – the 25th anniversary since the proposal of International Firefighters' Day in 1999. What began as a local initiative in Australia has grown into a global movement, uniting firefighters, their families, and communities in a shared spirit of appreciation and gratitude.

Today, we honor the courage, dedication, and selflessness of firefighters who put their lives on the line every day to protect others. We also remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and we recommit to supporting the fire service community in their vital work.

To mark this occasion, fire departments, community groups, and individuals are organizing events, ceremonies, and tributes to recognize the contributions and sacrifices of firefighters. These events include memorial services, parades, open houses, and fundraising campaigns for local fire departments and fire-related charities.

Join us in celebrating the heroism and spirit of firefighters everywhere on International Firefighters' Day.

Congratulations on a great 10 years. Looking forward to at least 11 more.

Justin Clavier was hired by Ocala Fire Rescue in April 2014. During his 10 years of service with OFR, he has worked his way through the ranks, from Firefighter/EMT to Fire Equipment Operator/Paramedic II.

Justin currently serves as an FEO/Paramedic II at the home of “The Sleepless Knights,” Station 5.

Congratulations on 20 years of serving Ocala.

Brian Cribbs was born in Gainesville, Fl. and is a lifelong native of Williston. He was hired by Ocala Fire Rescue on April 12th, 2004. During his 20 years of service at Ocala Fire Rescue, he has worked his way through the ranks from Firefighter/EMT to his current rank of Captain/Paramedic.

Brian is currently assigned as a Captain/Inspector in the Fire Prevention Division. He is also part of the Special Operations team and Florida’s USAR Task Force 8. Through out a part of his career, Brian also served as an adjunct EMT/Paramedic Instructor at the College of Central Florida.

Thank you for all you have contributed and continue to bring to Ocala Fire Rescue. Congratulations on your 20 years of service, Brian Cribbs!
