Today we had the pleasure of a visit with a retired firefighter that now resides here in Ocean City. There’s nothing better than a visit from folks we were able to assist in their ultimate time of need.

Here is an excerpt from his letter to the Chief.

“Chief Walker,

On November 30th of last year I needed the help of the Fire Department, as I went unconscious at my home. From what little I remember and from what my wife related to me during this scary time, your members acted swiftly and professionally. I spent three days in ICU and four on the general floor.

After serving 30 years as a firefighter, I never had a ride in an ambulance while in the prone position, but I guess there is always a first for everything.

Please thank your members for their care and life saving action that day.”

Outstanding work by Capt. Sean Kruger and FF’s Tim Quinn, Kevin Muller, Dan Boardman, & Kyle Garvey

Local 4032 is saddened by the loss of our friend, Joyce Trofa. Joyce was a staple in the community, having worked many years in the primary school, volunteering, and traditionally helping make our annual open house a success. Her late husband Charlie, and son in law, Capt. Pat Flynn, are also retired OCFD.

Joyce was an outstanding woman and friend to all. To say she will be missed is an understatement!
